A go-live you can reconcile.
Implementations run in phases, each ending with numbers your finance team signs off on — not a big-bang cutover.
- Design
We map your chart of accounts, funds, approval rules and roles with your finance, HR and IT leads, and configure a working copy of Sepal with them.
- Convert and test
Masters and open items come across from your current system; we run trial conversions until balances tie out, then rehearse month-end in Sepal.
- Finance go-live
General ledger, budget, purchasing, payables and receivables go live at the start of a fiscal period, with parallel reporting for the first close.
- Workforce go-live
HR, time, payroll and benefits follow, timed to a quarter or calendar year so tax filings stay clean. Parallel payrolls run until results match to the cent.
- Integrations and reporting
GIS, Cityworks, Laserfiche, utility billing and Power BI are connected, and standard reports and dashboards are tuned with each department.
Converting from JD Edwards
The sepal-jde agent runs on a server inside your network. It reads EnterpriseOne through whichever door your DBA prefers:
- AIS / Orchestrator — the JDE REST interface, using a JDE user with read access to the tables below.
- Direct read-only database — Oracle, SQL Server or DB2 for i, using a login with SELECT on the business data and control tables.
- CSV extracts — files from your own extract jobs or Data Browser, when neither of the above is allowed.
All three feed the same mappings, so the result is identical whichever you use. The agent converts JDE conventions as it goes: Julian dates (CYYDDD), implied decimals from the data dictionary, right-justified business units and the AID-based account keys.
| JDE table | Name | Becomes in Sepal |
|---|---|---|
F0006 | Business units | Business units and departments |
F0901 | Account master | Chart of accounts (BU.Object.Subsidiary) |
F0902 | Account balances | Opening balances and history, by ledger type (AA, BA, PA) |
F0911 | Account ledger | Journal history for the years you choose |
F0101 / F0401 | Address book / supplier master | Vendors, 1099 settings, payment terms |
F03012 / F03B11 | Customer master / receivables | Customers and open invoices |
F0411 | Accounts payable ledger | Open vouchers |
F4301 / F4311 | Purchase orders | Open POs and lines with remaining encumbrance |
F1201 / F1202 | Asset master / balances | Capital assets, cost and accumulated depreciation |
F060116 | Employee master | Employees, hire dates, pay rates |
F08101 / F069116 | Positions / pay types | Positions and earning codes |
F0618 | Payroll history | Year-to-date wages for W-2 continuity |
Proving it balances
After each load the agent compares JDE’s F0902 balances with Sepal’s trial balance by account, fund and ledger type, and lists any differences to the cent. Loads are keyed on the JDE record identifiers, so re-running a load after fixing data only adds what’s missing.
How much history to bring
Most organizations bring account balances for every year they report on and detailed F0911 history for the current and two prior years; older detail stays queryable in an archive. We’ll recommend a cut based on your audit and records-retention requirements.
